Matrix 4 – Resurrections (2021)
In a first for 2 Geeks we talk about a film that has yet to be released and before the marketing campaign even kicks off.
A trailer shown at CinemaCon in August 2021 has caused global debate on forums and countless speculation videos about Matrix 4.
The official trailer dropped the day before we recorded this episode, and we discuss the contents of the trailer and our expectations of the film.
The Matrix 4 was officially announced in August 2019 with Lana Wachowski writing and directing the new movie. Lilly Wachowski didn't return as she felt she needed a break and thought the idea of returning to the franchise was "expressly unappealing".
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are back, but Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving probably won't be for reasons we'll go into in a bit.
The Matrix Resurrections is released in cinemas on December 22. It will also be available to watch on HBO Max in the US from the same day.
