AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981)
"Beware The Moon.”
Halliwell's Film Guide described the film as a "curious but oddly endearing mixture of horror film and spoof, of comedy and shock, with everything grist to its mill including tourist Britain and the wedding of Prince Charles. The special effects are notable and signalled new developments in this field.”
Director: John Landis. Special Effects: Rick Baker
Starring: Griffin Dunne (Jack Goodman – first victim) David Naughton (David Kessler) Jenny Agutter
Music: Elmer Bernstein, Creedence Clearwater Revival (Bad Moon Rising), Bobby Vinto (Blue Moon) Van Morrison ( Moon Dance)
Marketing Blunder! During a preview of the film the marquee said, "From the director of National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)." Because of this, many people in the audience thought they were seeing a comedy.
