Yesterday (2019)
Everyone in the world has forgotten the Beatles. Everyone except Jack...
Written by Richard Curtis and directed by Danny Boyle this is NOT a jukebox musical based on Beatles songs it’s a science fiction movie which showcases Beatles music. You’ll be singing along and punching the air and mesmerised by the performances of Himesh Patel, and Lily James in a career best.
The marketing focused on the music and not the sci-fi elements which might have led people to believe it was indeed a jukebox musical. The posters were striking and highlight the power of using pop-cultural references in marketing.
